About Our Church
A Christ-centered community in Capitol Commons, grounded in God’s Word and committed to knowing, living, and proclaiming the gospel.
Capitol Commons Reformed Church was launched on April 6, 2025, from a desire to see the gospel proclaimed faithfully in Capitol Commons — by God's grace and providence.
We are a Reformed–Evangelical, Calvinistic community gathered around one mission: to glorify God by knowing, living, and proclaiming His Word.
"Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth." — John 17:17

Our Mission
Organized under three pillars.
Each pillar reveals how we live out our mission
KNOW THE WORD
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." — Psalm 119:105
We exist to glorify God by proclaiming, upholding, and submitting to His authoritative Word, so that believers grow in sound doctrine, discernment, and confidence in truth.
LIVE OUT THE WORD
"Be doers of the word, and not hearers only." — James 1:22
We glorify God by forming a community that worships, serves, and grows together — living the gospel in every sphere of life.
PROCLAIM THE WORD
"We preach Christ crucified." — 1 Corinthians 1:23”
We glorify God by proclaiming Christ alone — through grace alone and by faith alone — engaging our city and beyond with the gospel.
Our Vision
A worshiping community rooted in the truth of God's Word, growing in Christ-like maturity by God's sovereign grace, and faithfully living out the gospel in our city and beyond for the glory of the Triune God.
Rooted in the truth of God's Word
We are not tossed about by every wind of doctrine or cultural trend. Our foundation is Scripture alone— the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.
John 17:17
Growing in Christ-like maturity
We are not content with spiritual infancy. By God's grace and through faithful teaching, worship, and discipleship, we press on toward maturity in Christ—becoming more like Him in character, thought, and deed.
Ephesians 4:13
Living Out the Gospel
We are called to be light in a dark world. In Capitol Commons and beyond, we seek to demonstrate the reality of Christ through our witness, service, and proclamation—all for God's glory.
Matthew 5:14-16
Our Strategy
Our strategy is to plant the gospel deeply in micro-communities by gathering people around the Word, cultivating discipling relationships, and demonstrating Christ-like love in everyday life, especially within Capitol Commons and its surrounding districts.
Gather Regularly Around the Word
We prioritize faithful preaching, teaching, and personal study of Scripture. The Word of God is central to everything we do—from worship services to small group discussions to one-on-one conversations.
Cultivating Discipling Relationships
We believe that spiritual growth happens in the context of authentic relationships. Through intentional mentoring, accountability, and mutual encouragement, we help one another follow Christ more faithfully.
Demonstrating Christ-like Love
Our love for one another and for our neighbors is not theoretical—it's practical. Through acts of service, hospitality, and compassion, we seek to reflect the love of Christ in everyday life.
Live out the Gospel in their immediate context
We are committed to our local context. Capitol Commons and its surrounding districts are our primary mission field. We seek to be embedded in the community, not just present.
