Who Bewitched You? | Galatians 3:1-5
In Galatians 3:1–5, Paul confronts the Galatian believers with the question, “Who bewitched you?” After clearly hearing and seeing the gospel of Christ crucified, they were being tempted to turn away from the truth that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone. The message challenges us to examine whether we are relying on Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit or placing our confidence in our own works, performance, knowledge, and abilities.
This sermon reminds us that the Christian life begins by the Spirit and is sustained and perfected by the Spirit. Our salvation is entirely the work of God—from calling and regeneration to justification, sanctification, and perseverance. Even in suffering, failure, and hardship, we are called to repent, stand firm in the truth, and continue pursuing Christlikeness, trusting that our suffering for Christ is never in vain. Ultimately, salvation is by grace through faith and not by works, so that all glory belongs to God alone.

Ray Caguin serves as a pastor at Capitol Commons Reformed Church and works in business leadership and consultancy as part of his bivocational calling. His work in the marketplace is shaped by a commitment to integrity, stewardship, and faithful service.
He holds a BA in Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of Asia & The Pacific, pursued a Master of Divinity at Grace School of Theology, and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary, with further studies in Biblical Studies and Advanced Biblical Counseling at The Expositors Academy.
Ray serves the Lord alongside his wife, Celina, and their two Shih Tzus, Memo and Nava.
