Love In The Family Of God

Romans 12:9-13

In a time when churches are growing in number and expressions of faith vary widely, Scripture calls us to pause and ask a vital question: what truly marks a church as belonging to Jesus Christ?

This message draws our attention back to that question by grounding us in the Word of God. Rooted primarily in Romans chapter 12 and echoed by our Lord’s words in John chapter 13, we are reminded that the defining mark of Christ’s church is not size, structure, or activity, but love. Not a sentimental or worldly love, but a sincere, sacrificial love shaped by the gospel and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

As this message unfolds, we are invited to consider what it means to live as the family of God, justified by grace, transformed by the Spirit, and called to love one another as Christ has loved us. This love, Scripture tells us, is both the evidence of genuine discipleship and the means by which God draws others to Himself.

May we listen carefully, examine our hearts honestly, and allow the Word of God to shape our understanding of what it truly means to be the church of Jesus Christ.
