Paul Gets Tested in Jerusalem | Galatians 2:1-3

In Galatians 2:1–3, we examine Paul's return to Jerusalem after fourteen years of ministry and how his gospel was tested before the apostles. Far from correcting Paul's message, the leaders in Jerusalem affirmed that the gospel he preached was the very same gospel they had received from Christ—a gospel of salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Paul's testimony, the presence of Barnabas, and the uncircumcised Gentile believer Titus, all served as undeniable evidence that circumcision and human works are not necessary for salvation.

This message explores the danger of adding to the gospel, the importance of remaining faithful to the authority of Scripture, and the believer's responsibility to pursue humility, accountability, and biblical clarity. It also reminds us that God's sovereignty extends not only over salvation but over every detail of our lives, and that Christ's finished work on the cross is completely sufficient to save all who trust in Him.
