False Messiahs - Are We Trusting the Biblical Messiah?
In a context where the name of Christ is widely known and openly displayed in public life, Scripture calls the church to examine a crucial question: are we truly trusting the Christ revealed in the Bible, or have cultural traditions and devotional practices reshaped Him into something else?
This Thinking Biblically session addresses the tension between cultural familiarity with Jesus and biblical fidelity to who He truly is and how He saves. Particularly within the Philippine setting, where religious rituals, objects, and public devotions are often assumed to mediate blessing or salvation, the discussion calls believers to test every portrayal of Christ against Scripture alone.
By grounding the conversation in the gospel and the full biblical witness to Christ’s person and work, this session challenges us to discern between true devotion and misplaced devotion, between the Christ of Scripture and false messiahs shaped by tradition, emotion, or personal desire.
May this discussion sharpen our understanding, guard our worship, and lead us to deeper devotion to Christ Jesus as He is revealed in the Word of God.

About Thinking Biblically
Thinking Biblically
Thinking Biblically is a ministry which aims to point people to Christ and scripture in answering and addressing the realities of this fallen world. Every 4th Sunday of the Month, CCRC holds a question and answer for its flock right after service to help people think biblically on issues and matters relevant to people. There are also blogs and articles made under this same spirit of pointing people to the Word on anything and everything. May these articles and discussions exalt the name of Christ and His Words in your life!
