The Church and Culture

In this Thinking Biblically session, we explore the relationship between the Church and the culture around us. At the heart of the discussion is a simple but challenging truth: Christian culture should be both a truth culture and a gracious culture. As Christians, our ultimate authority is not the opinions of society, popular ideas, or cultural expectations, but the truth revealed in Scripture alone. At the same time, standing for truth must never be separated from the grace and character of Christ.

Following Christ means being willing to remain faithful even when obedience comes at a cost. Jesus calls His followers to take up their cross, and sometimes that may mean facing rejection, persecution, or suffering because of our commitment to God. May we be a people who hold firmly to the truth, extend grace to others, and, when faced with the choice, always choose faithfulness to God—even when the world tells us otherwise.
